- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—- January 7, 1991--ON Technology, Inc. today introduced
- Meeting Maker™, a Macintosh network application that helps you plan, schedule
- and confirm meetings without leaving your computer.
-
- “Meeting Maker provides the easiest, most precise way to set up meetings,” said
- Conall Ryan, ON Technology's president. “If your workgroup wants to
- collaborate more efficiently, Meeting Maker gets the right people in the right
- place at the right time.”
-
- The new software, which will begin shipping in the first quarter of 1991,
- automatically compares schedules to pinpoint the ideal time for a meeting.
- It also allows you to send meeting invitations, track responses, follow up
- flawlessly on schedule changes or cancellations, and distribute agendas.
-
- The heart of the product is the ability to propose meetings to co-workers over
- your Macintosh network. The Propose Meeting feature allows you to schedule a
- time and date, select required guests, reserve rooms and resources and prepare
- agendas. If you’re in a hurry, Meeting Maker's Auto-Pick feature will find the
- first available time for all required attendees.
-
- Meeting Maker also has a personal calendar that displays up to fourteen days in
- one window. You can block out activities, meetings, private work sessions,
- even recurring weekly or monthly appointments in a single step. You also can
- call up full details about any activity or meeting on your calendar, navigate
- to any day of the year, or zoom to a full monthly view. Meeting Maker includes
- a To Do List feature that lets you keep track of your personal itinerary and
- prioritize tasks.
-
- If you’re out of town or unavailable, and need someone to schedule meetings for
- you, Meeting Maker has a “Proxy” feature that allows another user to act on
- your behalf. Proxies can manage your schedule from their own machines.
- Meeting Maker also allows you to print your calendar in popular appointment
- book formats, so you can take a printed copy with you.
-
- Meeting Maker tracks responses to the proposal automatically by sending a
- message from the system to you when someone has responded to your request. It
- displays the current status of each proposed meeting as fully confirmed,
- partially confirmed, or cancelled.
-
- “Meeting Maker condenses the complex and frustrating task of planning and
- proposing a meeting into a single activity,” said John Shagoury, Vice President
- of Sales and Marketing. "Any Mac user who has ever had to set up a meeting
- between two or more people will be surprised they lasted this long without it.”
-
- Meeting Maker’s suggested retail price is $495 per five-user pack and $895 per
- ten-user pack.
